Privacy policy

This privacy policy applies to the SNCAlert service at https://sncalert.com. Record of Sale, LLC, an Oregon limited liability company, is the owner and operator of SNCAlert and of sncalert.com. SNCAlert emails environmental consulting and law-firm business-development desks when EPA's weekly ECHO Exporter snapshot shows a facility newly in Significant Noncompliance (SNC) or High Priority Violation (HPV), or a new formal action or penalty.

What we collect

When you create a desk or subscribe we store:

• Name or firm name, email address, and a hashed password
• Plan, billing interval, and alert filters (states, NAICS prefixes, CAA/CWA/RCRA, penalty floor)
• Stripe customer and subscription identifiers — not full card numbers
• Password-reset tokens (hashed, one hour, one use)
• Which alert events were emailed to your desk

Weekly alert mail includes facility identity fields taken from EPA ECHO snapshots: facility name, street address, city, state, ZIP, NAICS, program, event type, penalty amount when present, and a link to the ECHO Detailed Facility Report. Those fields are public EPA data. We process them to deliver the subscription you bought.

Processors

We use these processors to run sncalert.com. We do not sell your personal information.

• Vercel — hosts the website and serverless functions
• Neon — Postgres database for accounts, filters, facility snapshots, and alert history
• Stripe — subscription payments and the Customer Portal. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; SNCAlert does not store full card numbers
• Resend — transactional email (password reset and weekly alert digests) from SNCAlert <publisher@noticenearby.com>
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights — traffic and performance on sncalert.com. These tools use cookies or similar technologies in the browser

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a session cookie (or equivalent) so you stay signed in. Stripe Checkout and the Customer Portal set their own cookies on Stripe domains when you pay or manage a card. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights use cookies or similar browser storage to count visits and measure performance. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How we use data

We use account data to authenticate you, bill the plan you chose, apply your filters, and send password-reset and weekly alert mail. We use processor logs to keep the service running and to investigate abuse. We do not sell personal information, do not sell ECHO-derived desk lists as a consumer data product, and do not rent your email.

Retention and deletion

We keep account, filter, and alert-send records while the account exists. After you cancel, access continues through the paid period (see Terms). To delete the account, cancel in the Stripe Customer Portal and email publisher@noticenearby.com from the desk address. We will remove or de-identify personal account data that we no longer need to complete a refund, fight chargebacks, or meet a legal duty. Facility snapshots derived from EPA ECHO are public-source data we retain to operate the weekly diff; they are not your personal information.

Your choices

You can update filters in the signed-in settings page, change or cancel billing in the Stripe Customer Portal, and request access, correction, or deletion by emailing publisher@noticenearby.com. Oregon residents and others with similar rights may use the same address.

EPA / ECHO data

SNCAlert uses EPA ECHO snapshots. ECHO data lag source systems, are not complete, and are not a substitute for a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment or other legal due diligence. This product is not EPA advice and is not endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Do not rely on these alerts as a legal conclusion. Data source: U.S. EPA Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO).
