SNC vs HPV
Pick the program flag. The copy stays at sales-desk literacy: what the label means, what changed in a weekly ECHO snapshot, and which EPA pages to read. No facility scrape and no personal phone numbers.
CWA SNC is Clean Water Act Significant Noncompliance (SNC).
CWA uses SNC, not HPV. It flags NPDES-permitted facilities with serious, unresolved water-program problems — effluent exceedances, reporting failures, or other violations EPA and authorized states treat as significant. It is a compliance-status label in ECHO, not a court order.
A sales desk watches for a facility that was not in CWA SNC last week and is this week, or a new CWA formal action / penalty. Those rows are wastewater, stormwater, and pretreatment conversations — sampling, corrective action, and counsel — not a Phase I for a land deal.

Labels here are for sales-desk literacy. They are not legal advice and not an EPA determination. SNCAlert does not collect personal phone numbers for this explainer.
